SilenceOmo7: #nine_inch_nails_with_teeth_2005 I just got The Fragile. That album is just pure emotion pouring from your speakers! Trent was in a very, very dark place when he created The Fragile. Worth it, totally worth it.

Albums in order of favorites: The Fragile (amazing), With Teeth (my first exposure to NIN), The Downward Spiral/Pretty Hate Machine (I can't pick a favorite), Year Zero (haven't listened to it at all) Mar 12, 08

GT-D: #nine_inch_nails_with_teeth_2005 I meant "say" not "day" (woops)

yeah, people have told me that Year Zero is fairly good. Haven't had a chance to pick it up yet. Feb 7, 08

Downward Spiral was definitely ahead of its time and really pushed industrial & electronica music into the limelight during the mid 90's. Trent Reznor has always been a visionary and done his own thing his way, remember when he wrote music for Doom 3? Check out his latest 2007 Studio Album Year Zero which I highly recommend if you enjoy Downward Spiral as much as I do.

Erik: #nine_inch_nails_with_teeth_2005 I completely agree with you GT-D. The Downward Spiral was a freaking, insane masterpiece. Ironically, though, Trent Reznor's music has suffered a downward spiral since then, as he emerged from his deep depression. I still think NIN has something to offer, but it's much more of a commercial, "friendlier" (and more boring) sound.

This is what happens when rock stars get older. Do you think Paul McCartney is still as good as he used to be? Feb 4, 08

GT-D: #nine_inch_nails_with_teeth_2005 Was a big NIN fan when I was younger... Didn't really dig where he went later as much, but maybe thats mostly because of where my musical tastes went more then anything.

With Teeth wasn't bad mind you, some good tracks on there... just wasn't The Downward Spiral.

Somehow his (Trent's) being 'cleaned up' hasn't really helped his music too much its sad to day. (IMHO) Feb 4, 08
