Vampire Weekend

$15.00 Released January, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Distinctive sound. Catchy tunes after a couple of listens.

The Cons:Band is way over-hyped.

This is Vampire Weekend's debut self-tiltled LP.  This band hails from New York and features 4 former Columbia University students.  Their sound is quite diverse with a mix of African guitar, Western classical canon, a bit of reggae and pop, organ-and-drum beats, and of course an overall alternative-contemporary sound that will remind one of such bands as Talking Heads, Paul Simon (Graceland), the Strokes, Bedouin Soundclash.

Erik: #vampire_weekend Vampire Weekend were on SNL last night, leading to some criticism of the lead singer's large sweater. Who cares? Their music is good.. Apr 20, 08
